About Us
Fragrant Jerky’s owner is a third-generation maker of authentic Singapore-style fire-grilled jerky, locally in Singapore known as Bak Kwa. He began working in the family business at the age of fifteen, helping his grandmother prepare Bak Kwa in the shops.
In 2012, Mr. Yap ventured into the U.S. and opened his first branch in Rosemead, California (east of Los Angeles). By 2018, he expanded with a second retail location in Rowland Heights, California (in San Gabriel Valley), serving customers from both Orange County and the Inland Empire.
Today, Mr. Yap remains deeply involved in the business, personally selecting the highest-quality meats and ingredients, supervising production, overseeing the final grilling process to ensure every bite delivers the finest Bak Kwa experience, and ensuring the product quality and consistency that customers expect.
